We believe the first step in building something worthwhile is learning from the people who know this work best.

FINDenn is being built by first understanding the research and experience that already exist in this field — not by assuming we already know the answers. That means taking existing work on canine behavior, temperament, human–dog relationships, and adoption outcomes seriously, and approaching the people who study and practice it with real respect.

Why we're reaching out

We're asking questions, not making pitches.

FINDenn is currently in its research and development phase, and we want to make sure what we're building holds up against real research and real practice before we go much further — not just our own assumptions about the problem.

If you're a researcher, shelter, or organization working in this space, we'd welcome a conversation, whether that leads anywhere formal or not.

What we're interested in

Right now, specifically:

  • Learning from published and ongoing research on canine behavior, temperament, and adoption outcomes
  • Understanding how researchers in this space think about compatibility, fit, and successful placement
  • Talking through what collaboration — data, advisory input, or otherwise — might realistically look like down the road
  • Getting honest feedback on whether the problem we're focused on matches what you see in practice
How we'd handle this

A few things we can commit to now.

  • We describe our stage accurately, without overstating what exists.
  • Any use of outside research or data would happen with clear permission and credit.
  • We take privacy seriously for the people, organizations, and dogs behind any data we'd work with.
  • We see this as a tool to support human judgment, not replace it.
  • We won't claim validation or findings we don't actually have.
